Stunning graphics, delivered affordably with Cast and Cure technology. Affordable, sustainable embellishment is achieved through Breit Technologies' innovative process.
Cast and Cure creates luxurious visual and tactile effects for packaging, collectibles, trading cards, gift wrap, and labels. This sustainable embellishment method offers inexpensive decorative coatings that produce ultra-high gloss, matte, or holographic effects on a wide range of surfaces.
Cast and Cure Process
How it is applied - How it works
1. A thin layer of UV is applied to the material, either as a spot or flood (using digital inkjet or analog methods).
2. A film featuring special laser etched patterns is rolled and Casted into the material.
3. The film is rewound for reuse, promoting sustainable embellishment practices.
4. A UV lamp Cures the "Casted" pattern into the UV, then process is complete. Result is a prism providing stunning holographic effects!
Anyone sourcing large quantities of holographic material in any form should consider the advantages of Cast and Cure technology. Not only does it allow for creative applications of holographic effects in both flood and spot areas, but the cost benefits are remarkable. Since the film is reusable, it typically costs only 5-10 cents on the dollar compared to traditional holographic materials, offering an impressive PAYBACK ROI.
Cast and Cure technology creates its unique decorative effect by embossing ultraviolet coatings and varnishes. No harmful VOCs are emitted during this process, ensuring a commitment to sustainability. Additionally, because Cast and Cure avoids laminated metalized films, it does not compromise the native recyclability of a package. The ability to reuse Cast and Cure film multiple times makes it an economical choice. A wide range of sustainable UV coatings and varnishes can further enhance the sustainability of finished pieces while achieving stunning holographic effects.
Casting and curing with Cast and Cure technology offers many ways to deploy. You can integrate it into your existing technology stack or opt for a stand-alone solution. One of the most exciting aspects of Cast and Cure technology is that, for many applications, no new equipment is required! (example in adjacent video)
Breit Technologies also provides specialized inline and offline equipment designed for various print environments. These innovative solutions encompass a wide range of printing processes, including but not limited to narrow web flexographic, sheet-fed, and digital printing, all while enabling sustainable embellishment and stunning holographic effects.
Additionally, many existing COLD FOIL equipment systems can effectively apply Cast and Cure technology.
Breit Technologies offers established pre-built integrations, along with bespoke offerings, ensuring stand-alone options for both sheet and continuous feed in various widths.
There are three typical paths to deploy this cutting-edge technology. Varies by application.
B1+ (Typically B2 or B1)
Continuous Fed (CF): Narrow and wide webs
Sheet or Roll

High performance packaging embellishment at low cost. Breit Technologies has introduced new Cast and Cure finishing equipment for flexible packaging. This new system enables low-cost decoration on a wide range of flexible packaging substrates. Traditional flex pack embellishments can be prohibitively expensive. Our new equipment optimizes application and re-use of Cast and Cure material, reducing the cost of embellishment to a fraction of a penny per MSI.
Dedicated offline embellishment. Our recently redesigned Offline Cast and Cure finishing unit is
designed with embellishment in mind.
This new unit is easily retrofitted
into a wide range of machines. With its small footprint this unit can be
installed inline with screen printing units, offline coating equipment and
digital/inkjet UV varnish application presses.

We recommend systems from a wide range of cold foil equipment manufacturers and can provide processing guidance for most narrow web systems.
Effective application in challenging environments. Decorating in wide web applications has traditionally been difficult due to inherent dimensional instability of many film materials. Our equipment allows for effective operation, despite these limitations.
Our recommended wide web systems decorate these materials with all of the same benefits available in narrow web and sheet fed applications.

Several different examples and integrations exist worldwide.
Cast and Cure creates a wide range of embellishment options including more than 30 different stock holographic effects, matte and sheens for the most elegant visual experiences. Cast and Cure can be applied in both spot and flood coat applications. Best of all, Cast and Cure can be applied over graphics without obscuring the text or image.
